COMMON INFORMATION
Dear colleagues,
We kindly invite you to participate in the 14th international scientific conference “Accounting and Finance for Business 2024: Towards Sustainability”, which will be held on 14-15th of November, 2024 at the Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy (Kaunas, Lithuania). The Conference will be held online.
The conference is designed to bring together leading academics, researchers and scholars in the field of accounting and finance to exchange and share their experiences and research results relevant to business. The main objective of the conference is to present and discuss innovative and sustainability-oriented trends, concerns, new approaches and practical challenges in accounting and finance in order to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of business.
This year, 2024, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Agricultural Academy celebrates its 100th anniversary, and one of its key areas of activity is the organisation of higher education in accounting with agricultural knowledge. Since 1958, the Lithuanian Agricultural Academy, now VMU Agricultural Academy, has been offering studies related to accounting specialists, and in 1963 the first group of agricultural accountants-economists graduated.
A significant role in the development of agricultural accounting science and education was played by Associate Professor Kazimieras Jasiūnas and lecturers Jonas Bubnys and Jonas Čenys, who not only taught, but also actively conducted scientific research and prepared highly qualified accounting specialists. Their contribution to the science and practice of agricultural accounting remains an integral part of the history of the VMU Agricultural Academy. The conference “Accounting and Finance for Business 2024: Towards Sustainability” contributes to the honouring and celebration of the VMU Agricultural Academy long history and is dedicated to important discussions on aspects of sustainability in business accounting and finance.
The conference as part of the VMU Agricultural Academy 100th anniversary events also emphasizes the VMU Agricultural Academy commitment to important discussions on aspects of business accounting and financial sustainability, contributing to the celebration and respect of the academy’s long history. This contribution is particularly important as strong accounting professionals in the agricultural sector play a very important role in the implementation of sustainability principles, which is in line with the mission of the VMU Agricultural Academy to develop modern knowledge and skills.
